TradeAssembly / NeedleMap

Know what your script actually does.

NeedleMap turns Pine Script source into a readable, source-linked map of its mechanics—so conditions, state, timing, and action paths are visible before you rely on them.

A map, not a guess

Read the path from condition to action.

NeedleMap is a mechanical inspection of the code in front of you. It does not backtest, forecast, or tell you what to trade.

Example finding: the source shows a condition and an action path. It cannot establish actual fills, external execution, or future performance.

SOURCE EVIDENCE / EXAMPLE ONLY

State and timing change the reading.

Entry path
Line 38 computes the crossover each evaluation. Line 40 also requires no position. The conditional order request follows at line 43.
Persistent state
Line 39 declares a persistent signal-bar value. It is set when the entry is requested at line 44 and reset after the close request at line 48.
Exit timing
Lines 45–47 count bars since the signal, not time since a verified fill. A positive position and at least five elapsed bars are required for the close request.
What remains unknown
The source does not prove which settings or data were used in a run, whether an order filled, or the result of external execution. There is no backtest or profitability verdict in this report.
01

Bring the source

Open Pine v5 or v6 source you possess and have the right to analyze.

02

Trace the mechanics

Follow data, state, timing, conditions, actions, and explicit unknowns.

03

Keep the map

Review a printable System Map and export the local HTML or versioned JSON artifact.

Privacy boundary

Your raw source stays in the browser.

NeedleMap performs deterministic source analysis locally. Where an AI review is enabled, it receives normalized, redacted behavior facts—not raw Pine source or source-authored strings.
