What is TradeAssembly Core?
Core is the local operating layer for an agent-driven trading system. TradeAssembly is the umbrella brand; Core and Relay are distinct products. Studio is the human-readable workspace for Core.
Why not just use an agent with the Alpaca CLI?
For a simple experiment, that may be enough. But an agent can misunderstand a rule, lose context after a restart, or retry an order when it never received the broker’s reply—even though the first order went through. With real money involved, a confident answer in chat is not enough. TradeAssembly puts explicit checks and a durable record between the agent’s intent and the broker: Core checks configured risk and authorization rules, records the strategy version and broker receipts, and reconciles uncertain outcomes before retrying. You can inspect what happened instead of asking the agent to reconstruct it from memory. These controls apply to actions routed through Core; they do not make a strategy profitable or protect broker calls made outside it.
What do I need to get started?
A Mac, an agent environment such as Codex, Claude Code, or OpenClaw, an Alpaca account with permission to connect, and your own strategy and risk rules. Core’s public package, license, and tested setup guide are being prepared; check that guide for supported versions and connections. Relay is optional.
Does Relay run my trading system?
No. TradeAssembly Core executes locally on your computer. Relay adds monitoring, off-device records, and remote requests. It cannot keep a sleeping computer running.
What does TradeAssembly cost?
Core: Free Forever. Relay: $19 / mo for one workspace/node, with 1 GB of artifacts, 100,000 accepted journal events each month, and 30-day searchable history. No automatic overages.
What happens if the connection drops?
If your Mac loses its connection to Relay, you can still read the history already uploaded, but you cannot tell from that history what is happening right now. Your local system may still be running if it can reach the broker. A pause request sent through Relay is not proof that trading has stopped: Relay keeps it marked pending until your Mac receives it and confirms the action. Orders already accepted by the broker and open positions do not disappear when a connection drops. If you need to act immediately, check your local system or broker directly.
